SEA-TRI-KAN -the basics

The journey will start at the World Relief Seattle office in Kent, WA on Wednesday afternoon, June 21, 2017.

The team will ride east together for 5 days, heading though World Relief Tri-Cities and on to World Relief Spokane. On the second to last day riders will complete a Century Ride: 100 miles in one day to commemorate World Refugee Day.

Each rider is responsible for their registration fee of $350, which covers all food, lodging, round trip transportation for you and your bike, and other expenses. In addition, each rider will raise $1,760 l from friends and family, which will enable World Relief to enroll 8 refugees on Seattle's Match Grant Employment Program. This money will go directly toward English classes, transportation assistance, job search assistance, and other essential services for local refugee families.

Refugees are people who have been forced to flee their home due to persecution for their race, nationality, religion, or membership in a political social group or political belief. They arrive to Washington State from all over the world with great hopes for finding a new home in safety. 100% of SEA-TRI-KAN proceeds will be matched 2:1 and used to help refugee families gain employment, achieve self-sufficiency, and become vibrant, active members of our community.
