This page exists to provide helpful information to members of a Seattle-area Good Neighbor Team, a small team of people from a local church committed to coming around a new refugee family as they settle in to life in America.
"Arrival" refers to the the day and events of the refugee family's arrival to SeaTac airport. When it comes to the arrival, the role of a Good Neighbor Team is to be there to greet the family with a warm welcome, help transport them and their luggage to their home (or the host home), ensure that they have a ready-made meal and a stocked pantry, and to be present and attentive as the World Relief staff person goes over a few basic details on that first night.
Information about what should be provided by the Good Neighbor Team at arrival, some guidelines for meal prep, and some resources for finding culturally and religiously appropriate foods.
Information about flight details, preparing for the pickup, parking at the airport, and drop-off instructions
