This page exists to provide helpful information to members of a Seattle-area Good Neighbor Team, a small team of people from a local church committed to coming around a new refugee family as they settle in to life in America.

When it comes to community orientation, the role of a Good Neighbor Team is to help the new family get on their feet in a new community and introducing them to the most basic resources that will enable them to take ownership of their new lifestyle. Helping them get a cell phone, understand the bus system, and use the internet and other resources at the library will help them find their feet. Access to some of these fundamentals will also ease the burden of communication/transportation between the family and the Good Neighbor Team during longer-term interaction.
