World Relief Seattle is now accepting applications for a full-time Employment Program Assistant who will provide support to the World Relief Employment Program through record keeping and reporting, employment preparation activities with refugees, and administrative support.


  • Complete and record weekly job class attendance
  • Ensure employment program participants communicate regularly with employment team
  • Follow up with program participants (pre-employment and post-employment)
  • Update the World Relief database with employment information
  • Ensure program participants report employment information to necessary government entities
  • Assist clients through process of preparing for employment with activities such as
    • making resumes
    • finding bus routes
    • completing applications
    • shopping for uniforms
    • practicing interview questions
  • Document all contacts with clients
  • Assist employment team with other administrative tasks
  • Other related tasks as assigned



  • A desire to serve refugees in support of the ministry and mission of World Relief
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and sensitively with people of diverse cultural and religious backgrounds
  • Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple duties
  • Ability to adapt to a changing employment climate and shifting refugee populations
  • Flexibility, initiative, and a desire to learn
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team to accomplish goals
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Experience with refugees and/or non-native English speakers very helpful
  • Knowledge of a second language a plus
  • Intermediate computer knowledge, including MS Office
  • Current Washington State driver’s license and access to a vehicle preferred
    • Status: Full-time, non-exempt
    • Location: Kent, WA
    • Compensation: $12.25/hour; $12.75/hour after 90 days of employment
