Responsibilities:

- Coordinate the delivery of community and cultural orientation to newly arriving refugees from all over the world

- Create and implement new evaluation tools used to assess current orientation retention

- Provide orientation to newly arrived refugees through teaching classes as needed

- Initiate redesign and maintenance of orientation delivery system

- Other related tasks as assigned

- Connect with former participants and refugees in the community to assess needs

- Perform various tasks such as scheduling doctor’s appointments, arranging transportation to appointments, and filing low-income housing applications

- Document and collect appropriate paperwork for each task performed

- Prepare files for each participant in order to bill appropriate contracts for services performed

- Encourage participants to work towards self-sufficiency and employment

 

Qualifications:

- A desire to serve refugees in support of the mission of World Relief

- Demonstrated ability to work sensitively and effectively in cross-cultural settings

- Previous experience with refugees and immigrants preferred

- Previous experience in social science research and/or program evaluation preferred

- Good time management and multi-tasking skills

- Ability and desire to work on special projects independently

- Intermediate computer skills

- Excellent oral and written English communication skills

- Proficiency in a refugee language highly desirable

- College degree in related field preferred
