Resettlement Coordinator

 

Responsibilities:

• Provide practical guidance and advice to WRS casework staff on the Reception & Placement (R&P) and Match Grant (MG) programs
• Respond to walk-in requests and provide referrals as needed
• Help cover for resettlement team staff with tasks during busy periods and vacations, both in and out of office
• Conduct case file reviews (both R&P and MG)
• Review 90-day R&P reports to ensure completion for submission
• Assist with pre-arrival processing for the R&P program
• Create case files for new arrivals including asylees
• Request and keep track of pocket money for new cases
• Process SIV walk-in cases for resettlement
• Assist with training new casework staff
• Attend meetings with local partners to network and build relationship with other service providers
• Communicate with staff from other offices in the World Relief network to identify best practices to improve services
• Coordinate community input to help inform, design, and implement current and new programs
• Assist with other projects as necessary

 

Qualifications:
• At least 1 year of experience working in resettlement at World Relief or similar organization required
• Position may not be combined with active casework role
• Desire to serve refugees in support of the overall mission of World Relief
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects at one time
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
• Intermediate computer knowledge, including MS Office and the ability to learn new programs (previous experience with databases desired)
• Previous cross-cultural experience highly-desired
• Flexibility and desire to learn and serve others
• Self-motivated worker with the ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative
• Dependable and consistent in attendance and performance
• Ability to work well as part of a team and with diverse groups of people
• Bachelor’s degree preferred

 

Location: Kent, Washington

Hours: 32 hours/wk

Compensation: $21.25/hour after 90 days ($20.25 to start)
